How to teach your child to identify a RIP! Colouring in

Here at By The Dunes we emphasise a simple and safe summer! And teaching kids water safety is one of our top priorities as parents of 4 little ones who live by the ocean!

Spotting a RIP is more important than you think, and surprisingly a majority of the population can't do so! First and most importantly is always swim between the flags. But secondly, from a very early age showing kids the beach from a high point of view, maybe a lookout or standing in the sand dunes is a great activity for all ages!

Whether you want to take the below colouring in sheet, and ask your child to point out all 4 defining factors of a RIP and sit by the beach and get them to spot if there is a RIP at your local beach or just do this colouring in at home and watch Bondi Rescue! Either works perfectly.

As summer is fast approaching, this colouring in to identify where a RIP is located amongst the waves at the beach is a critical life skill. As an ex Swim Instructor and Lifeguard, teaching my kids this is so easy and fun with this readily downloadable print out!
